Terms & Conditions

Upon making any payment to secure a booking at Marysville Garden Cottages ("MGC"), the Registered Guest ("Registered Guest") agrees to these Terms and Conditions.

  1. Upon making any payment to secure a booking at Marysville Garden Cottages ("MGC"), the Registered Guest ("Registered Guest") agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
  2. Bookings for MGC may be made via the MGC website or by phone. Bookings will be processed within 24hrs of the Registration Form ("Registration Form") being completed via phone or internet. Bookings will be confirmed with the Registered Guest by a confirmation receipt ("Receipt") once full payment has been received. The receipt will be sent to the Registered Guest at the email address nominated on the Registration Form.
  3. It is the Registered Guest's responsibility to ensure all details completed in the Registration Form are correct. The Registered Guest should check all booking details on the Receipt are correct and, in the event, the Registered Guest believes any details on the receipt are incorrect, the Registered Guest must contact MGC within 24hrs of receiving the receipt. MGC will endeavour to alter such booking, if available, however the Registered Guest may be required to pay any price difference to alter such a booking.
  4. A door access code will be sent to the Registered Guest along with their cottage name and number and a site plan showing the location of the Registered Guests cottage and car park, all within 48 hours of their check-in time, allowing the Registered Guests check in to be totally private and no need to see a reception desk.
  5. It is the responsibility of the Registered Guest to bring the Receipt and the 10 digit door lock access code with them upon arrival. The 10 digit door lock code can easily be set to a 4 digit door lock code by the Registered Guest at any time during their stay. Instructions on how to do this are sent to the Registered Guest with their door code information.
  6. Payments can be made via Credit card (Visa or Mastercard), or electronic funds transfer - details of MGC account will be provided upon completion of Registration Form where electronic funds transfer is nominated as form of payment.
  7. MGC will use our best endeavours to ensure that information which we collect, use or disclose in connection with Cardholders or Transactions is protected from unauthorised access.
  8. Check in time is 2pm onwards unless other arrangements have been made prior to arrival. 
  9. Check out time is 10am. (Door codes automatically change after 10am on day of departure, and entry will not be allowed after 10am). Late checkout may be arranged with MGC, subject to availability, for an additional fee.
  10. Should the Registered Guest fail to vacate the Cottage by the check out time, MGC may charge an additional fee for late check out.
  11. All cottage rates are for two people and include linen for queen/king bed only. Rates quoted include GST.
  12. Extra Linen. If separate sleeping arrangements are required via the use of a sofa bed, (see cottage check list for availability), the Registered Guest must include this request in the Registration Form and an additional fee will apply.
  13. Extra Guests. If an extra guest is to share the cottage where available (see cottage check list for availability), the Registered Guest must include this request in the Registration Form and an additional fee will apply. Any visitors to your cottage are not permitted to stay later than 8pm.
  14.  If the maximum allowable guests are exceeded in any cottage, MGC may charge an additional fee of $100 per person, per day for any additional guests staying at the Cottage.
  15. In the event of the Registered Guest cancelling the booking, seven or more days prior to the arrival date, a fee of $100 will be incurred, unless alternative dates can be arranged within 60 days. In the event of the Registered Guest cancelling the booking within 7 days of the arrival date, a fee of the greater of, the cost of the first night's cottage rate or 50% of the total booking will be incurred. Failure to arrive on the arrival date will result in surrender of 100% of the total booking.
  16. The Registered Guest is responsible to ensure all other people in the cottage booked by the Registered Guest comply with the Terms and Conditions. The Registered Guest agrees to be responsible for any additional fees incurred by other people in the Cottage booked by the Registered Guest.
  17. In the unlikely event that MGC cannot accommodate the Registered Guest in the cottage booked by the Registered Guest, MGC will arrange for an alternate cottage of a comparable standard for the Registered Guest.
  18. MGC does not provide any safekeeping service for Guests’ belongings. MGC is not responsible for the security of Guests’ belongings and encourages Guests to ensure the Property is secure when not occupied.
  19. In the event any personal belongings are left at the Cottage after the designated check out time, MGC will remove belongings from the Cottage and store such belongings for 14 days. In the event such belongings are not claimed within 14 days, MGC will donate such items to local charity organisations. MGC reserves the right to charge any  costs of returning such items to the Registered Guest.
  20. MGC does not cater for children under the age of 16.
  21. Pets or animals of any kind are not permitted at MGC.
  22. The Registered Guest must ensure that the Cottage is left in an acceptable and generally tidy state, furniture is not to be moved and external doors locked when vacating. Should excess cleaning be required, MGC reserves the right to charge the Registered Guest for such cleaning.
  23. Cottages will only be serviced for bookings in excess of 7 days. Should the Registered Guest require a service of their Cottage during their stay this may be arranged for an additional fee.
  24. Registered Guest should ensure noise levels are kept to a minimum after 10pm for all guests' safety and comfort.
  25. No smoking is allowed indoors at MGC. Should there be any smoking inside the Cottage, the Registered Guest will be charged for additional cleaning and deodorizing required.
  26. In the interest of safety, candles are not permitted at MGC.
  27. The Registered Guest will be responsible for any breakages, damage or items removed from the Cottage.
  28. MGC does not accept any liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, loss, delay, additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by any events which are beyond their control including, but not limited to, incidents at the property, war, civil disturbance, terrorism, fire, flood, power outage, acts of God, acts of Government, or any other authorities, accident to or failure of machinery or equipment, maintenance requirements or industrial action.
  29. To the extent permitted by law, the Registered Guest agrees to release, indemnify and hold harmless MGC (and its contractors and employees) from and in respect of all expenses, costs, liabilities, claims, actions, proceedings, judgements and losses of any kind whatsoever arising out of, caused by, attributable to or resulting from the Registered Guest's booking or stay at MGC.
  30. In the event any of these Terms and Conditions are found to be void, voidable, invalid or unenforceable, such term shall    be severed and all other Terms and Conditions will remain in full force and effect.
  31. If the Registered Guest breaches any of these Terms and Conditions, MGC reserves the right to terminate the booking and evict the Registered Guest from the property immediately. In such event, the Registered Guest will forfeit any future nights stay and no refund will be provided.
  32. Cooking is not permitted in the cottages. If a cottage is to be found excessively tainted due to a guest cooking, with or without, their own appliance, the Registered Guest will be responsible for the extra cost of cleaning and defumigation of the cottage to reinstate it to an acceptable condition. 
  33. In the event of a Catastrophic – Fire Danger Day being declared by the CFA for our region, the North Central Fire District, (as per the CFA website ), MGC will be closed and the following procedure will apply: 
    (a) Guests currently checked in will be required to vacate the Cottages prior to 5pm the evening before the Catastrophic Day. 
    (b) Registered Guests due to check-in on the Catastrophic Day will be notified that the Cottages will not be available. 
    (c) All Registered Guests unable to stay at the Cottages on the nights they have booked as a result of a Catastrophic Fire Danger Day will receive a credit voucher for the balance of their accommodation booking. 
    (d) On days of extreme heat guests must monitor fire danger ratings. 
  34. Credit vouchers are available for 3 months and are not redeemable for cash. Cancellation of accommodation booked using a credit voucher is final. No refund or replacement voucher will be issued. 
  35. Covid-19 conditions. If any guest has tested positive to Covid-19, been in contact with someone who has recently tested positive to Covid-19 or is showing flu like symptoms of Covid-19 they must follow the current Victorian Government rulings. 
  36. If a Government Ruling for travel restrictions or lockdown measures regarding Covid-19, Marysville Garden Cottages will defer your booking for up to 6 months. 
  37. Privacy Policy.  The Registered Guest's information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse, loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure. When guests personal information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, MGC will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify the Registered Guest's personal information. However, some of the guest's personal information may be stored by MGC for a minimum of 7 years.
  38. MGC does not provide WIFI due to unreliable Telco infrastructure.
